Determining Candidacy

To establish candidacy, Dr. Ray may request digital x-rays or other advanced images to evaluate the underlying structure of your jaw. Dental implants are an effective option for patients missing one or more teeth and who are in good oral and overall health. Some conditions may impact your eligibility for treatment, including:

If you have suffered extensive bone deterioration after tooth loss, we may recommend a bone graft or sinus lift to strengthen compromised tissue and make room for dental implants. The Dental Implants Process

The implants treatment process consists of several steps, beginning with a surgical procedure. To ensure your comfort during the procedure, Dr. Ray can administer a combination of anesthesia and sedation. He can then make a small incision in the gum line and embed the implant post in the jawbone. Once secured in place, Dr. Ray can close the incision with sutures.

Over a three to six month healing period, the implant post can fuse with your jawbone during a process called osseointegration. After two weeks, you can return to our office for placement. At this time, Dr. Ray can ensure your prosthetic fits comfortably and securely in your smile, revealing improved dental function and aesthetics.
